Welcome to Sunnymede Preschool
Sunnymede Pre-school is privately owned and has served the community for over 50 years. It is now situated in the grounds of Sunnymede Infants School, with the use of two class rooms, its own garden and separate secure entrance. There is a superb relationship between us and Sunnymede Primary School; we share the use of the schools field and can use the school hall for our annual Christmas show. We also have good relationships with all the local schools in Billericay and neighbouring towns, supporting children to transition to their next school.
The Pre-school was founded in the 1960’s at Sunnymede Chapel. The group then moved to Outwood Common Community Centre and was run by Jenny Greenwood between 1982 to 2022. In 2007, the pre-school relocated again to its current location at Mons Avenue, within the grounds of Sunnymede Infant School. (Entrance in Monoux Close.)
The majority of our staff hold childcare qualifications at Level 3 and 2 and have child care experience as parents and the new owner Kate Greenwood holds Level 2, 3 and 6 qualifications in early years.
In March 2022 we were rated as GOOD by Ofsted.
Ofsted commented :
"The provider is exceptionally motivated to achieve high standards of care and
learning for all children. She is skilled, very well qualified and has clear vision for
the setting. This helps to enthuse and inspire staff, who show commitment and
dedication to meeting children's needs".
